WRASSES AND ANTHIAS
Some good looking fish from deeper water. lavender fairy, hooded fairy and carlson's anthias are unusual above 40 meter.
BLACK FISH WITH YELLOW HEAD: THAT IS ONE UNUSUAL KEYHOLE ANGEL!
This Keyhole angel had a yellow head! that is most unusual and the first of a kind we discover. Well spotted!!
BLACK SPOT PENCIL WRASSE: ANOTHER NEW RECCORD TO NC'S FISH LIST
Last week we found a nice looking pencil wrasse male. It was fashing amongst a group of other wrasses. Once identified as Pseudojuloides mesostigma, it happened to be a new reccord for New Caledonia's fish list. Hoping to find more of this fish another time!
UNCOMMON ENDEMIC NEW CAL DOTTY BACK
We've never seen this fish before. It's most likely Ogilbyina salvati. Very nice little dotty back with the bright red (cypho like) color, blue spots on it's face and yellow paint mark on the tail.
