THAT IS HOW COLD IT GETS DOWN HERE…. SOME NSW SPECIMEN CAUGHT IN NC LAGOON…
NICE HOG!
We found two nice hogs on a deep reef, Bodianus paraleucosticticus, the other guy was too fast!
HAPPY 2015 EVERY ONE!
RARE FLAME ANGEL OF NEW CALEDONIA
Flame angels (centropyge loriculus) are very uncommon here in New Caledonia. We were lucky to find and collect two recently, the first one went to Nouméa's public aquarium AQUARIUM DES LAGONS and the second one went to a friend's home aquarium. Both of them had a fin clip taken for agenetic study on this specie accross the Pacific.
KIRITIMATI ISLAND
AFNC was involved in SPC's long term work aiming at improving methods used for collection and exports of aquarium products in Kiritimati Island, Kiribati. Very ingenious and 'natural' divers to say the least!
